Knowing the truth

Jesus said in John 8:32

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Friends this is why it is so important that we read the word. The word is the truth but if we don't know it is doesn't do us any good. We have to know what God says before we can benefit from it. I heard it told like this once. Let's say on payday you stick 50 dollars back for emergencies but you forget you have it. Then lets say you run out of gas and you are broke. You would have to go around begging for someone to lend you some money and you might get it and you might not. While all the time your need was met with the 50 you put back but you didn't know you had it so it did you no good. We must know the word so we know what we have and what is rightfully ours.

Can God trust you?

Jesus said in Luke 16:10

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is ubjust in the least is unjust also in much.

If we are not faithful in the day of small things then how can the Lord trust us with greater things? How can we expect the blessings to be overly abundant if we have shown God we can't be trusted. We need to pay our tithes and give offerings as best we can so that God will see that we are trustworthy and he will add to us to the point there will not be room enough to receive it.

Follow me and I will make you

Mark 1:17

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me,and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Jesus said this to Simon and his brother Andrew who became his disciples. The point I wan tto make is it that until that point these two men were common ordinary fishermen just going about their everyday normal lives, until they met Jesus and Jesus said unto them "Come ye after me and I will make you to become" now Jesus of course told them fishers of men but he could have said anything a doctor, a teacher, a business owner. My point is God has the power to make you what you need to be. It doesn't matter who you think you, are or your station in life he has the power to make you to become whatever! When the world saw these men they saw dirty, smelly, uneducated and unimpressive men but when Jesus saw them he saw two men that could help to spread Christianity through the entire history of mankind. What great thing does God see in you?

Doug also has been diagnosed with Diabetes in the last year. Please remember this family in your prayers and you can leave Julia a message either here or in the Somerset, Kentucky topix thread at the Daily Verse.

Judge not!

Jesus said in

Matthew 7:1

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

These 7 little words are a huge stumbling block for Christians. It seems the more righteous a person thinks they are the more judgemental they are as well. The Bible says those that are forgiven little love little and I have found that to be true. It is not our place to judege others it's God's it's our place to love them and witness to them and to help them if we can. Judgin others is a trick of the enemy. he gets you to focus on their faults instead of focusing on God's love for them and their need of forgiveness. Let's Restore one another and not tear down. Husbands and wives you can tear down your homes with your own hands if you don't follow this word from Jesus. often we judge the actions of those we love without knowing their hearts and Satan uses that to manipulate situations and fill your head with untruths so be on guard.

Do you love God?

This text involves Jesus and Simon son of Jonas (Simon Peter) speaking Jesus words will be in italics so you know. Hey God Bless you this morning!

John 21:17

He saith unto him the third time. Simon son of Jonas , lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Jesus said if we love him if we truly really love him we would feed his sheep. Folks that don't mean you have to be a preacher or a teacher you only have to do what you can do. Everyone can be a blessing to others and demonstrate the loving kindness of God. We can all show mercy to others and we can all witness for the Lord in one way or another, it may be something as simple as going on Topix and letting a sister in the Lord know you are lifting her up in prayer in her time of need but Jesus says if we love him we will do these things now do we love him or not? I am not trying to beat anyone up but I do hope as a Christian people wake up to the fact we have a duty to be doing something for the Lord and it will only bring us more joy and peace when we do it and isn't that something that we are all searching for. God bless you all!!

He calms me

I know we are getting a lotof new readers and let me say Welcome and thanks for tuning or clicking in. Let me encourage you to read through the archives and one post in particular I think will be a blessing to you. It's entitled Sometimes he calms the storm sometimes he calms me.

Is it time?

Matthew 24:7

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.

You know there are many many nations involved with the war on terror and so I think it's only out of fear that it's not being called World War Three, because in actuality that is what it is. Famine sweeps the continent of Africa and more and more people grow hungry every day. Now with the recent earthquake in Haiti it bring s to light the last part of the verse. Earthquakes and other natural disasters are on the rise all across the world. Are we discerning the times? Doesn't the Bible also tell us in the last days many will fall by the way and the days would have to be shortened for the very elsects sake. The church has left so many of its foundations in efforts to tickle mens ears so they can gain numbers in their member books and not add names to the book of life. Get your house in order for I believe our redemption draweth nigh

Prayer Request

A reader named LouAnne has asked for prayer. She is from Danville, Kentucky and she is fighting cancer. My mother passed with cancer and it was the reason she made things right with God. Knowing mother it took something like that for her to repent. God knows what he is doing and he doesn't promise everything will be good but he does promise he will work it for our good. Still Cancer is a horrible illness that until you see it firsthand you can't imagine what it can do. LouAnne needs our prayers please do not abandon her in this her time of need. It is no accident you are reading this please take the time and make the effort right now to pray for this precious lady. It will only cost you a few moments of your time. God bless you all!

I also am getting more and more burdened for the precious souls of Haiti there is a picture I saw on the news of a father holding his dead daughter in his arms as the tears stroll doun his utterly destroyed looking face. There are also many still trapped beneath the debris. Please pray for these people and if at all possible donate something even a dollar can be a blessing it could have just as easily been us.

Don't think it strange

First John 3:13

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

This world is not our home, Jesus was perfect without sin and they crucified him. The world is full of the devil and his angels and we as Christian are the light of the world and we threaten his kingdom with our very existence so naturally he hates us and will do and use all he can to distract, discourage and ultimately destroy us. I think this old story is a good example of how this world isn't our home....please read

A young boy growing up felt led of the Lord to travel to Ethiopia and minister and teach them about farming so he saved his money and when he turned 18 he left waving by to his parents. While there they passed away and he had no other family. After 3 years of hard, hot work he flew back and on his flight he discovered a celebrity was on board with him. When the plane landed he had to wait for the celebrity to get off first. There were hundreds of people there to see her, newspapers, tv cameramen they had a marching band it was just a big big deal. Then the young man got off the plane and there was no one to greet him not one person. The young man reached out to God and said God why is it after serving you all this time there couldn't be at least one person to welcome me home? The Lord spoke to him and said Son you are not home yet!

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon his face the one who saved me by his grace and when he takes me by the hand and leads me through the promised land oh what a day a glorious day that will be!

I wanted to let everyone in on a new feature, I have added a link toward the bottom of the page that is supposed to be the top Christian sites on the net. I did this honestly in hopes of bringing in more traffic that was my real motivation for which I am suddenly feeling a sense of conviction. Conviction because my first thought should have been to be a blessing to people. Lord please forgive me and I ask you the readers to forgive me as well.

Prayer Request

I am just learning of the recent earthquake to hit the country of Haiti. Please remember all of the victims in your prayers, I know he will hear us!

Know who to blame

Jesus said in John Chapter 10 verse 10

The thief cometh not,but for to steal, kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

So many times we blame our problems on God or most likely on those that betray us or do us wrong in some way when the truth is our real enemy the one who is behind all of our pain is the thief, the devil. Don't be vengeful on the woman who stole your husband she was nothing more than a pawn in the hands of your real enemy. He is the one who really attacked you. He's the one set out to destroy us and doesn't he know just the buttons to push. Know instead of trying to get even with people or mad at God who loves us so much he sent his only son to die for us we need to get up dust ourselves off and make satan wish he had never ever touched our hearts and our homes!! How do you do that? You do that by working for the Lord greater than you ever have, by witnessing and telling others the good news. You know what truly the harvest is great but the laborers are few. How many good Christian people do you know who truly work for the Lord every day? You know we spend our lives working so hard for the things we want and often never obtain when I truly believe if we would spend our efforts trying to build the kingdom of God and really get a burden for other peoples souls we would have more than we ever imagined. I mean after all the Bible does say that to lose your life is to save it.

What would you give?

Jesus said in Matthew 16:26

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

What would you give in exchange for your soul remember that old, old song? It simply asked oh if today God called you away what would you give in exchange for your soul? If you are not a Christian ask yourself this what have you exchanged for your soul? Is it something worth your eternity? Could it be some woman you think you can't live without, some addiction your hooked on, some lust that has you bound? Jesus is able to deliver you from anything and everything! There's power in the blood! He can make you over, you truly will be born again in the spirit a new creature. Don't let the trickery of this world deceive you, you are an immortal being with a soul and you willlive forever either in Heaven or in Hell there is no other alternative for mankind. It only takes a few seconds to say Jesus I repent of my sins I ask you to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. And just that quick you can pass from darkness to light from sinner to saint. It's no accident you are reading this that's God reaching out to you. Don't wait Don't wait till it's too late. God loves you and I do too no matter what!!

So praise the Lord for that. It really blesses me to see those because it makes me feel like the work is not in vain and it is being read and having an impact. You know how the enemy can try and discourage you. I also wanted to let you know I may post weekly how many hits the site had so people can see how were doing, if you scroll down a ways you will find a counter that gives you the total number of hits, the week is over today since I first started counting and so far we have had about 175 or so hits since the 5th.

I had posted before speaking of prayer requests and I felt led to do it again I did receive some that have been private and I received 2 more today on a topix forum, they haven't had a chance yet to tell me if I can share them on the site yet. I would really like to see that be started here where we could have a prayer list and I could add to it when new requests come in and then a praise report when we see those needs met. If you would like to send in prayer requests please feel free to do so at nattysdaddy@newwavecomm.net or call me at 606-802-2420.

I am going to add one today if you have been reading my other blog about my life story, you have read where I have recently found a long lost friend of mine and he is currently serving in Afghanistan so I will be adding his family to the list today

Be Content... No matter what!

Phillipians 4:11

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Easier said than done huh? I think that's why it says I have learnED. It's really a question of faith isn't it? I mean that's what it all boils down to. If you have faith that God is in control of your life, that he knows what he is doing and that it's all working for your good you can have contentment and peace in all situations. Now it's getting that faith that's key. How do you do that? It's real simple you go through stuff that only God could bring you through and then you learn!

I've got a feeling

I just feel like something good is about to happen. I just feel like something good is on its way. He has promised that he'd open all of Heaven and brother this could be that very day.

When God's people humble temselves and call on Jesus
and they look to Heaven expecting as they pray

Oh I just feel like something good is about to happen and brother this could be that very day

Well I got a feeling everything is going to be alright

Yes I got a feeling everything's going to be alright

Oh I got a feeling everything's gonna be alright!

I know these are just words to songs but in my spirit this morning it's how I feel and I want you

to feel it too!!

Tell the old devil off

Someone just needs to get good and mad at the devil this morning and tell him off. Enough is enough devil! You will not have any control over my destiny. I am a child of God, the most high, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and you will not have the victory over me or my home you got that devil!!

God is going to take care of you!

Today I have a few verses I want to share that I thought just go so well together.

Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their

troubles.

18: The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite

spirit.

19: Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth them out of

them all.

Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou shalt go: I

willguide thee with mine eye.

As I typed this I was reminded of a sermon I heard years ago on the disciples and

Jesus telling them to follow him and he would make them fishers of

men. You see that's it he can make us what we need to be. he can make us a new

vessel that is whole even after it has been broken. He will not fail he has been

steadfast and true since the beginning of time and what he has done for others he

will do for you. I don't know who I am speaking to this morning but look up your

redemption is drawing nigh cause enough is enough!

What Satan intends for evil to you

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

This verse goes along with Romans 8:28, bad things will happen to all of us, but it is so good to know that God will take what Satan intends for evil and work it for our good. The above verse was spoken by Josepth talking to the very brothers that had sold him into slavery and led to him being in jail. But you see if that hadn't happened then him and his whole family would've died in the famine. God knows what he is doing even when it doesn't feel like it.

Discerning the times

Jesus said in Luke

Chapter 12 Verse 56

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

I think Jesus was speaking of the generation we have today. I beleive that truly we have many false preachers and teachers out their that are deceiving millions. Any other time in Hisotry too they would have been easily spotted, but now it seems as though many are more than eager to let go of the truths and foundations that have stood thru the ages. I can remember when people knew what sin was but now it seems as though anytihng goes. Is that not what the Bible said would happen when good would be called evil and evil good. Now if you speak out against sin you are considered a hatemongerer. In the words of another song this time by Karen Peck Whaterver happened to the good old days if it was sin back then it still is sin today. Let's get back to living in a holy way!

Sometimes He Calms the Storm.....Sometimes he calms me

2nd Corinthians 4:8

8:

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Ever been there? When everything looks bad when gloom and doom are all around yet you have a definite calm? A peace that passeth all understanding! Nothing but God can give you that sweet assurance that your in his almighty hands and everything is working for your good. I want to share some words to a song by the Southern Gospel group the Mckamey's entitled "Sometimes he calms the storm, sometimes he calms me

1st verse

Troubled waters came my way the angry storm grew near

I prayed for God to speak the words to make it disappear

But it seemed the waves would not obey the Masters call for peace

But then the Lord spoke to my soul reminded me he had control

And said this time his words were meant for me

Chorus

Sometimes he calms the storm Sometimes he calms me

Sometimes the storm still rages on but I feel the sweetest peace

It's such a joy to know that my Lord knows just what I need

Sometimes He calms the storm sometimes he calms me

Verse 2

Circumstance may overtake and bring me to my knees

But when I feel I can not cope with this lifes troubled seas

I call on him whose voice can still much greater storms than these

And then the Lord speaks to my soul when he says child I'm in control a

And with one touch he calms the storm in me!!

Where does the power of life and death lie?

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Watch out for new agers who are twisting this truth to promote all sorts of false beliefs. We are not a God in any sense of the word, yet God does tell us that their is power in our tongue. I think the reason for this is our faith will dictate our words. Remember in the Bible when David spoke with faith what God would do with Goliath. David wasn't a God whose words commanded the universe to attract what he had visualized. On the contrary God in Heaven above was moved by David's faith in him. So speak boldly with faith for our God is well able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all! That we ask or even think!! He is a name above every name!!

Think about this why does he have to seek whom he may devour? I believe the answer is simple. He has to seek because he can't destroy everyone! He can only devour those who allow him. Don't allow satan any victory in your life remember "greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world."

Who is your real enemy?

Ephesians 6:12

12:

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powere, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So often we place our anger on the people that hurt us. When or real enemy is Satan the people are nothing more than the tool he used to do his work. If we as a people would just get good and mad at the devil instead of others and make up our minds that we were going to make him wish he had never ever touched our hearts. We can do this by witnessing to others by spreading the gospel by showing love to others. In doing so Satan will regret ever causing us the pain that caused us to rise up and fight him back!

New Feature

I meant to start this yesterday and just forgot. But for those of you who would like to read the Bible through this year I will post daily what you need to read to accomplish this. There will be times because of my job that I might miss a day because there are times when I work 24 hours and even 48 hours straight. I am allowed to sleep at work so it's not that hard to do. If I miss a day or so I will back track so you know for sure you are up to speed, but it really only takes about 15 minutes a day and you will be on target.

The Daily Verse is a blessing!

This little blog is blessing me and is drawing me closer to God. I am noticing more and more it is having an affect on me. I think it is because sadly this is the first time in 21 years of being a Christian that I am in the word every day aside from a year when my daughter was first born and I read her the Bible all the way through that year. I would love to know if you have been blessed

I just want to praise you Lord

Lord as you know I just put my precious daughter to bed, and I was on my way to my bedroom, when I just got the feeling I needed to stop and give publicly give thanks to you. So Father I praise your wonderful sweet heavenly holy name! You are the king of kings and the lord of lords. Surely you are a name above every every name oh Lord and you are worthy of the small sacrifice of praise. You are so good Lord I thank you so much for every blessing, for every breath you have so graciously given me. Lord I thank you for your kindness and gentle mercies Father! I love you Lord and I lift my voice let it be a sweet sweet sound in this place! Glory to your name.

The Love of Money

1 Timothy 6:10,11

10:

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11:

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

I think it is interesting that wealth itself is not said to be evil only the love of money. The love of money catches your emotions away. After all the Bible also says that where your treasure is there will your heart be also. Now you can have wealth and that not be your treasure (that is of course very rare). We must seek after godly things not worldly things! We get so caught up in possessions that we go in debt over our heads and then have to work every hour we can to survive which robs us of our peace, joy, our health and of course time with our loved ones. Remember friends to see ye first the kingdom of Heaven and all these other things will be added unto you.
